With the passing of the 2023-2024 budget council is excited to announce that Belle Plaine will be adding recycling to our waste disposal schedule. May 30th, 2023 Loraas will be delivery blue recycle bins to the residential residents. Scheduled empties will start June 13th, 2023 and will alternate every second week on Tuesdays with the garbage pick up. Loraas asks that the recycle bins be out by 7:00 am on the day for pick up. Please refer to the list of items allowed and prohibited for the recycle containers as well as the schedule for pick ups.

The 2023-2024 budget has been passed with expenditures of $ 264,092. 

Council was able to decrease the mill rate to 4.5 from 8.  A base tax was introduced in combination with the minimum tax to assist with revenues. Taxes to be levied in June with the option of a discount if paid on or before August 31, 2023

Curb side recycling carts have been added to our waste disposal starting in June. Alternative weeks of garbage and recycling to start this summer. Calendar will be posted once available through supplier.

The water sewer budget was also approved and passed that came with a 10 percent (10%) increase to water and a 1 cent ($0.01) increase in sewer, due to increases from suppliers. New rates will be reflected on your June 2023 invoices. 

Do you have used toner or printer cartridges? Bring them to the Village office Tuesdays from 12 pm to 4 pm and we will send them off to be recycled. Drop off box located inside.

We all can do our part to go Green.

Dust suppression will be applied July 7th, 2022. Please have your garbage totes off the street and refrain from parking on the street on that day.
